Preparation for the first-ever Global Prosperity Summit 2024 (GPS 24) is in full swing as the countdown clock is ticking. I look forward to welcoming speakers and participants from across the world to share their unique perspectives on issues impacting global prosperity. The Summit should also help promote international friendship.

GPS 24 is the first geopolitical conference to be hosted in Hong Kong. Striving to bolster the city’s role as an international intermediary, I and a group of like-minded friends have been able to establish this GPS 24 platform within a short period of time with the support of many global experts and business partners.  In addition to the keynote speaker Professor Roger D. Kornberg, Nobel laureate in Chemistry and international authority on structural biology, other speakers include Professor Steve Hanke, Professor of Applied Economics and Founder and Co-Director of the Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health, and the Study of Business Enterprise at Johns Hopkins University; Professor Yang Jiemian, Chairman of the Academic Advisory Council of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies; Ms Susan A. Thornton, Senior Fellow and Visiting Lecturer of the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale Law School; Professor Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, Turing Award Winner, Dean of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences and Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence at Tsinghua University and Dean of the Shanghai Qi Zhi Institute; Dr Michael Spence, President & Provost of University College London; H.E. Madame Irina Bokova, Former Director General of UNESCO, Patron of the International Science Council (ISC) and Co-chair of the ISC’s Global Commission on Science Missions for Sustainability; Professor Huang Ping, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Institute of Hong Kong and the Director of the Centre for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and more.

Every speaker and participant of the Summit shares a common belief in the importance of working together across borders to contribute to the future of global development.

Hong Kong is a beautiful city full of endless charm.  GPS 24 is a good opportunity to showcase the city’s extensive connections while deepening exchanges, building common ground, and making new friends.  With this Summit, I hope to elevate Hong Kong's role as an intermediary for international dialogue on the world stage.

Stay tuned!
